I got the job. Now I can tell you the rest.

In Between Acts | August 2026, Issue #17
Clarity begins in the pause between endings and beginnings

Hi Reader,

The last time I wrote to you, I was in my final week of unemployment insurance, and a job offer had just landed — at the wire, with the clock, the calendar, and my bank account all watching.

Then I went quiet for five months. That wasn't an accident, and you deserve the honest version: I started that job in April, and I gave myself permission to land in it before I said another word here. I'm four months in now. Steady paycheck, steady ground.

And from steady ground, I can finally tell you the part of the story I couldn't see when I was in it.

🎭 The Scene, Revisited

Back in March, I told you the needle moved on its own timeline. That was true — but it wasn't the whole truth.

Because in those final two months, I finally did the thing I'd been too busy (and too scared) to do: I took my own medicine. The cobbler made her own shoes. I rewrote my resume using the exact method I use with clients. I named my fears on paper instead of letting them hum in the background. I kept one small thing moving every single day. I let people in instead of white-knuckling it alone.

The offer didn't arrive because I waited long enough.

It arrived because I worked the process while I waited — the same process I'd been giving away to everyone but myself.

💡 Cue the Shift

Here's what four months of hindsight makes clear:

The tools work — I'm the newest case study. Everything I teach, I just lived. Resume strategy, interview prep, confidence repair at 2am. I'm not coaching from a mountaintop. I'm coaching from the trail, with fresh mud on my boots.

Being "between acts" isn't a gap. It's a scene. Things are happening in the in-between that you can't see from inside it. My whole search was rehearsal for the work I'm doing now, including with you.

🌱 What's Next (for both of us)

You'll be hearing from me weekly now — short, useful, honest. Same me, clearer mission: career clarity, creative renewal, and confidence for whatever your next act is.

And I'm reopening my 1:1 practice this fall with three spots for my 3-month coaching package — six sessions, plus a full resume and LinkedIn overhaul built in, done with the method I just tested on the hardest client I've ever had (me).

P.S. If you're reading this employed but quietly miserable — doing everything "right" and still feeling like you're in the wrong story — that's exactly who those three spots are for.
